Watching Swoop TV on a Roku TV

We will be straight with you: Roku has no dependable IPTV player that takes an Xtream Codes login, so Swoop TV cannot be installed on it directly. The TV your Roku is connected to can still show Swoop TV in three ways.

  • Roughly 10 min
  • Suggested player: Mirroring from an Android phone or a Windows PC
  • Have your Swoop TV login ready

Before you start

  • A Roku that is online
  • The Swoop TV login shown in your dashboard. Not signed up? Grab a free trial first.
  • A player app, for example: Mirroring from an Android phone or a Windows PC, Swoop web player on a laptop, A Firestick or Google TV stick plugged into that TV

Setup, one step at a time

  1. Allow screen mirroring on the Roku

Open Settings → System → Screen mirroring on the Roku and choose either Prompt or Always allow.

  2. Start Swoop TV on a phone or PC

Launch IPTV Smarters Pro on an Android phone, or open the Swoop web player on a Windows laptop, and play a channel.

  3. Mirror to the Roku

Android: pull down Quick settings, tap Smart View or Screen cast and select the Roku. Windows: press the Windows key and K together, then pick the Roku from the list.

  4. Long term, plug in a streaming stick

Mirroring is OK for one match or one movie. It eats your phone battery and adds a slight lag. Put a Firestick or Google TV device in a spare HDMI port and you get a real player with its own remote.

Getting a steadier picture

Use 5 GHz for both

With mirroring, the video crosses your Wi-Fi twice. Connecting the phone and the Roku to the same 5 GHz network keeps the picture steadier.

iPhone owners

Most Rokus will not take mirroring from an iPhone in the usual way, but some models support AirPlay. If yours does, start Screen Mirroring from Control Center on the iPhone.

Questions about Roku setup

Can I get a Swoop TV app from the Roku Channel Store?

No. The Roku store has no trustworthy IPTV player that handles Xtream Codes logins. Mirroring or a second streaming device is what we suggest.

What should I plug into my Roku TV?

A Firestick or a Google TV device. Either one runs the players we recommend and fits any open HDMI port.

Will mirroring use up a second device slot?

No. Swoop TV only sees the phone or computer that is streaming. The Roku is just displaying that screen.

Something not working?

Nine times out of ten, a restart of the player and the device, or a network cable, clears it up. For anything else, try these: set up a firestick , choosing a streaming device , apps that work with swoop tv . Or write to support and tell us which device and player you are using.

Put together by the Swoop TV support team under our editorial policy. Player names belong to their respective owners, and Swoop TV has no tie to any of these apps, which may come and go from app stores. Every device: all Swoop TV setup guides.
