TiviMate setup for Swoop TV, from install to a tidy guide

Swoop TV tivimate – tiviMate add-playlist screen on an Android TV with Swoop TV Xtream Codes server, username and password fields

Plenty of customers try two or three players and end up on TiviMate, mostly because its guide grid feels like the cable box they left behind. This TiviMate setup guide gets Swoop TV working on Fire TV and Google or Android TV hardware, then spends most of its time on what happens after the login: trimming the list, keeping the guide current and fixing the handful of errors that reach our inbox. Still deciding between apps? Our comparison of IPTV player apps will help you choose first.

Check your device first

TiviMate is an Android app, so it needs an Android-based screen:

  • Amazon Firestick or Fire TV Cube
  • Google TV and Android TV sticks, boxes and TVs
  • NVIDIA Shield

It will not install on Samsung, LG, Roku or Apple devices. On those, a Firestick plugged into the TV is the simplest way to use it.

Gather three details

Open your customer dashboard and find the login section. You need the server URL, the username and the password. Trial accounts show them in the same place, so the free trial works with these steps too.

Keep the dashboard open on your phone while you type. Long passwords entered with a remote are the most common reason a first attempt fails.

Install TiviMate

Google TV and Android TV: open the Play Store, look up TiviMate IPTV Player and install it like any other app.

Firestick: TiviMate is not in the Amazon Appstore, so it goes on through the Downloader app. The Firestick setup guide covers the unknown-sources permission and shows where the download link sits in your dashboard. Return here once TiviMate opens to its welcome screen.

Sign in with Xtream Codes

TiviMate gives you several ways to add a playlist. Pick Xtream Codes, because it brings in live channels, movies, series and the guide together without a separate EPG address.

  1. On the welcome screen, select Add playlist.
  2. From the list of playlist types, choose Xtream Codes.
  3. Fill Server address with the URL from the dashboard. Keep the http:// at the start and the port number at the end if there is one.
  4. Type the username, then the password. Capitals matter in both.
  5. Press Next. TiviMate confirms the login and counts the channels, movies and series it can see.
  6. Name the playlist, for instance Swoop TV, and press Done.

Now leave it alone for a minute or two. The app is pulling down the full channel list and several days of programs. If you press Back before the guide grid appears, you often end up with a blank guide that needs a manual update later.

TiviMate also accepts the M3U link under Enter URL. That route works, but you then have to add the EPG address yourself, so it only makes sense if the Xtream screen refuses to connect.

Make the guide easier to scroll

A complete lineup is long, and scrolling past hundreds of channels with a remote gets old fast. Cut it down:

  1. Open Settings → Playlists, select your playlist and choose Manage groups.
  2. Untick every group you will not watch. Hidden groups stay in the account; you can tick them again whenever you like.

There is a shortcut too: in the channel list, hold OK on any group and pick Hide group.

Keep the guide fresh

Go to Settings → EPG. Your playlist should appear as a guide source. Pick a daily update interval: listings stay current and the app stays quick. If shows appear at the wrong hour, the time shift setting on that same screen is the first thing to adjust.

Build a favorites row

Move to a channel, hold down OK, then select Add to favorites. A Favorites group then sits at the top of the list, and the same long-press menu lets you move channels up or down within it. Ten channels in the order you like makes evening viewing far quicker than browsing groups.

Favorites live inside TiviMate on that single device. A second TV, or a different player signed in to the same Swoop TV IPTV account, starts with an empty favorites list.

Tune playback on Wi-Fi

Settings → Playback holds the buffer size. On a box connected by Ethernet the default usually works well. On a Firestick using Wi-Fi, a medium buffer covers short signal drops in exchange for a few seconds of extra delay. If freezing continues, the network is the likely cause; our buffering fixes cover what to try.

Free or Premium

The free version adds one playlist, plays live TV and shows the guide. Premium, which you buy from the TiviMate developer (normally activated with the TiviMate Companion phone app), adds extras such as several playlists, better favorites tools, recording, catch-up where available, more guide options and settings backup. The developer changes features and prices now and then, so read the store listing before buying. During a trial, stick with the free version and decide later.

When something goes wrong

  • “Authorization failed” or “Invalid credentials”: usually a typing slip, or the port is missing from the server address. Type each field again from the dashboard.
  • Login works, no channels appear: the trial or plan may have ended. Check its status on the dashboard.
  • Guide reads “No information”: the first guide load was cut short. Open Settings → EPG → Update EPG and wait a few minutes.
  • Playback cuts out the moment a second TV begins: your plan’s device limit was reached. End one of the streams, or upgrade to a bigger plan on the pricing page.
  • Crashes after a Fire OS update: clear TiviMate’s cache under Settings → Applications → Manage installed applications before reinstalling. The playlist usually survives.

If none of that helps, sign in to the Swoop TV web player in a browser. Channels playing in the browser prove the account works, which points to the device or its settings. If it fails there as well, email us and include your username, which device you use and a photo of the error, and we will reply by email.

Common questions

Is TiviMate Premium required for Swoop TV?

No. The free edition signs in, plays live channels and shows the guide. Premium is an optional upgrade sold by the TiviMate developer, separate from your Swoop TV plan.

Can I install TiviMate directly on a Samsung or LG set?

Not on the TV itself, because TiviMate needs Android. Add a Firestick or Google TV stick to an HDMI port, or use IBO Player, which runs on many smart TVs directly.

If TiviMate is open on two TVs, does that use two devices?

Only streams that are playing count. Each TV that is showing a channel uses one of the connections in your plan, whichever player it runs.
